    Position Purpose Summary

    Responsible for execution of master data creation and maintenance requests of product and cost data.  Monitors results and identifies trends impacting Key Performance Areas – time cycle for creation / modification of master data, master data accuracy.  Works with manager and other team members to improve master data management processes, with focus on reducing cycle times and improving overall data quality.

    Responsibilities

    • Understands the company’s vision, mission, and strategy; understands business unit objectives and sets/accomplishes individual performance goals accordingly.
    • Notifies business users and others impacted of changes in master data; ensures communication to owners of upstream and downstream processes.
    • Acts as subject matter and process expert to advise business users on master data requests.
    • Manages new Product Information System (PIM) Work Flow Process – set-up process mapping, defining roles, etc.  Interprets corporate policies and guidelines to facilitate resolutions to work flow issues (ex. Compliance Policies).
    • Defines rules and parameters for product attributes in PIM to ensure accurate data
    • Conducts periodic data quality audits; presents findings and recommendations; implements corrective actions to update data and / or process.
    • Provides proactive communication of potential and actual issues to Manager, Sales and Product Management representatives.
    • Actively seeks input and guidance from Sales and Product Management to ensure team is focused on addressing current business priorities and working toward common business goals.

    Qualifications

    • Working knowledge of fundamental properties of building materials. 
    • Interpretive knowledge of BlueLinx policies and procedures. 
    • Working knowledge of master data management and / or ERP systems. 
    • Strong technical skills required for data mining /query/database applications.
    • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite Software and relevant tools / technology.  
    • Years of experience: 0-2+ years’ experience preferred with BS / BA; 0-1+ year experience with MS / MA / MBA
