Position Purpose Summary

The outside sales respresentative of flooring sales reports to the GM of Texas market and is a member of the company’s team. This individual is responsible for the direction and management of all flooring sales and business development operations, including market competitiveness, distribution and channel strategy for the given Texas market. He/She will drive the market’s achievement of its customer acquisition and revenue goals for the Texas market as defined by the GM.

   

Responsibilities

 

  • Grow key customer relationships and develop and implement strategies for expanding the company’s customer base.
  • Develop pricing policies, including volume discounts and terms and conditions, for high-profile customers and channel partners.
  • Be a role model for the company flooring culture.
  • Establish sales incentive programs.
  • 5 plus years sales experience in comparable flooring industries.
  • Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels.
  • Established contacts and relationships with potential customers and channel partners.
  • Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills with executive level customers and partners.
  • Proven evangelical sales track record in a new product/new market environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results driven, team oriented environment.
  • Experience with a specific sales methodology, sales funnel management.
  • Experience in choosing, deploying and using marketing and sales.
  • Capacity to assume more significant responsibilities over time.

 

 

Qualifications

Market, product and customer knowledge; consultative selling skills.  Strong planning, organization, communication, problem solving and decision-making skills.   Knowledge of the organization’s policies.  A solid level of knowledge is needed in account management, scheduling, customer support and service, product knowledge, product pricing, sales support, warehousing, distribution, transportation and records.  Must be an aggressive self motivated individual.  Possesses basic telephone skills with the ability to identify key issues, evaluate facts and recommend appropriate action.  Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite Software and relevant sales systems technology.
