Position Purpose Summary

Works under the direction of a Senior Branch Manager or Branch Manager to learn the essential skills to become a Branch Manager and to contribute in driving the success of the branch.

Responsibilities

  • Understands the company’s vision, mission, and strategy; understands business unit objectives and sets/accomplishes individual performance goals accordingly.
  • Conducts special projects as assigned by the Branch Manager (i.e., inventory management, process improvement, space management, training of talent and productivity improvements).
  • Learns the safety training and following of safety requirements for branch personnel.
  • Learns compliance in all federal, state, and locals laws pertaining to employment, safety, and DOT regulations.  As necessary, acts as the Branch Manager in the absence of the Senior Branch Manager or Branch Manager.
  • Under the direction of the Senior Branch Manager or Branch Manager, may partner with the sales group to increase market penetration and productivity. 
  • Under the direction of the Senior Branch Manager or Branch Manager, may partner with procurement to manage inventory levels; provide appropriate intelligence on obsolete inventory and guidance on all aspects of inventory management.

May assist Branch Manager with the following responsibilities:  Leads team; selects/hires; develops objectives; coaches and evaluates performance.  Ensures direct reports obtain applicable training and development opportunities to enhance performance, development, and contributions to the company.  Holds direct reports accountable for individual and team performance.  Addresses performance issues appropriately and timely.

Qualifications

Experience in a distribution operation.   Process improvement and operating efficiency competency.  Branch operations and systems knowledge.  Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite Software and relevant tools / technology. 

 

Years of experience: 7+ years experience preferred; 5+ year w/ MS/MA/MBA.
