Position Purpose Summary:

Applies specialized knowledge to assist management in solving different and unusual problems; information is evaluated, and a decision is made based on that evaluation. Explains and interprets existing department policies, and is responsible for significant planning to coordinate with other organizations and/or resources.


  • Understands the company’s vision, mission, and strategy; understands business unit objectives and sets/accomplishes individual performance goals accordingly.
  • Prepares monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.  Analyzes balance sheet accounts, relationships, journal entries and trends.  Prepares and submits financial accounting information to the Financial Reporting department and other headquarters departments.
  • Work with management to improve the joint interpretation of financial indicators and statements.  Analyzes and reports EVA and real productivity results.  Consolidates operational and/or divisional financial information.  Reviews and reports G/L and other statistical information for internal managerial reports.
  • Work with management to make sure inventory, and operational month and year-end accounting is completed accurately
  • Leads team; selects/hires; develops objectives; coaches and evaluates performance.  Ensures direct reports obtain applicable training and development opportunities to enhance performance, development, and contributions to the company.  Holds direct reports accountable for individual and team performance.  Addresses performance issues appropriately and timely.


Understanding of complete business cycle; ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships; manage multiple tasks.  Communication, planning and organization, teamwork, attention to detail, initiative and collaboration.  Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite Software and relevant systems technology. Willingness to work a flexible schedule; including evenings/weekends particularly around closing.


Years of experience: 7+ years related experience preferred;  5+ year w/ MS/MA/MBA.  BA / BS in Accounting or related degree preferred. MBA or Masters in Accounting a plus.


CPA a plus
